Linksys e4200 Maximum Performance Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router is the new router coming from Cisco that is launched in January 2011. This is the 1st router introduced by Linksys utilizing technology of N750.

If you still have some computers with legacy Wi-Fi 802.11b or g, they are still suitable for the router but with highest speeds. Your clients can connect because Linksys e4200 is manufactured by the latest technology of wireless 802.11n with dual band simultaneous supports and it's suitable for the 802.11b/g legacy clients.

USB Port

E4200 Linksys includes one internal USB slot with UPnP Media Server. It's a feature which can make you easy to publish an additional storage with the users on the local network or securely access via the internet by means of VPN connection. With the built-in UPnP AV Media Server you are able to stream your HD media to some other media units including the XBOX, PS3, Blu-Ray players, and TV.

Sadly, you can not utilize this USB slot to host a USB printer for sharing. To share the printer via the network, you should invest in different wireless print server or you can use the personal pc and configure that ordinarily for print-server.

High Speeds

The router includes entire 3x3 MIMO antenna array for highest wide range and reliability. With the high speeds up to 450Mbps (for 5GHz band) and the longer length range coverage and with the improvement of QoS feature, the router delivers optimum good performance wireless environment for high speed HD media streaming and smooth and rapid response gaming experience. QoS (Quality of Service) technology is the ability of the router to provide the traffic prioritization for gaming and streaming over other information traffic.

The primary difference between the former Linksys E3000 and Linksys e4200 is the speed technical specs. The highest speeds for E3000 is 300Mbps theoretically for both 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands that is commonly known as the N600 router. While the Cisco e4200 speed is 300Mbps for 2.4GHz band and 450Mbps for 5GHz band - this is often called N750 routers.

NETGEAR also launched the N750 router WNDR4000 which is almost the same specifications as the Linksys e4200. The two routers include the Gigabit WAN (1 port) and Gigabit LAN (4 ports) Ethernet interface. With Gigabit LAN interface, it is possible to link any computers with gigabit NIC enabled using Cat5e network wire for high speed wired connection.
